What a fantastic effort from the SOPA competing archers over the past 12 months. The depth and strength of the club and the dedication of our competing archers is amazing. It takes an enormous amount of dedication and time for archery to continue to operate at a superior level in the State. Congratulations to all award winners and commiserations to those who were so close behind them.
We have noticed the increasing numbers in the Barebow and Longbow sections and SOPA will campaign strongly with ANSW for better recognition of Archers competing in the Barebow Division. SOPA will propose that an All Round Adult Male and All Round Adult Female Barebow Champion trophy should be awarded for the highest scores from the 4 State Tournaments – Target, Field, Clout and Indoor. We also propose an All Round Junior Boy and All Round Junior Girl Barebow Trophy be presented.
It was a big night for the club and for individual SOPA archers at the recent ANSW Presentation Night as awards and trophies were presented and achievements recognised.
